Please check this space regularly for updates on where you might find Elizabeth Holcombe!

From time to time I make presentations on various writing topics at libraries and writing conferences. Topics include:

Researching Outside of the Box—based on Elizabeth’s widely distributed article, Researching Outside of the Box is a multi-media presentation on the uncommon and unconventional ways writers can research for their stories. From police cars, waterparks, rodeos, reality TV, the Austrian Alps, and your local movie theatre, you can enhance your story with vivid and exciting details that you have dig deep to get. This course is not for the shy, but the curious are welcomed with open arms!

Collaging for Book Inspiration—relying on her years of experience and myriad crafting skills in sewing and altered book arts, Elizabeth presents a fun and lively hands on demonstration for writers to jump start their books (and their brains!) through simple to relatively complex collaging techniques. Altered book art, journaling, artist card making, and scrapbooking are strong visual pathways to diving deep into your characters and plot. Collaging allows you to see options in your story you never considered before. No artistic skills required!
